Uutinen on heitetty ilmaan, alkuperäislähteenä Autocar UK. Sijalle tulee kaikki kolme korvaava crossover, joka paljastetaan 2021 alkupuolella. Sääli menettää Mondeo, mutta jos markkinat eivät vedä kunnolla niin kai on parempi korvata 3 huonosti myyvää yhdellä hyvällä? Auto rakennetaan C2 -pohjan päälle, johon ilmeisesti Focuskin perustuu.

Ford aikoo lopettaa Euroopassa myytävät Mondeo-, S-Max- ja Galaxy-mallinsa. Tilalle on tulossa yksi ainoa uusi malli, joka korvaa kaikki kolme poistuvaa tuotetta, kertoo brittilähde Autocar.

Ainakin mun silmää viehättää toi mahdollisesti tuleva malli...tai sitten toi on joku konsepti suunnitelma?
Omasta mielestäni nää Ford Max:it ym. tilakulkineet on kyllä kaukana kauniista,linjakkaasta autosta,no makunsa kullakin.
Mondeo on kyllä tyylikäs kulkine...

Taitaa olla kovasti reippaat alustan ylitykset uudessa mallissa.

Ihme kun tätä liikettä ei tehty jo aikaisemmin kun esim Nissan on myynyt hyvin vastaavalla konseptilla, vaikka auto ei ole mitenkään ihmeellinen.
Muotoilututkielmakin näyttää erittäin hyvältä. Focuksen platformi pitäis vaan saada kaikilta osin kuntoon ja lastentaudit pois.

New model becomes crossover
Ford is rigorously changing its model policy and will launch a crossover model that replaces Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy.
The still new unnamed model builds on the flexible C2 platform, on which, among other things, the Ford Focus is based. It allows vehicles from the small car Ford Fiesta to the seven-seater SUV Ford Edge. Even the upcoming Transit and the Ford Tourneo get the front part of this platform.
Ford Mondeo crossover with diesels and gasoline
As engines are the Mondeo crossover gasoline and diesel to the Euro 6d standard and a 48-volt hybrid gasoline engine to choose from. This should also be the 1.5-liter three-cylinder Ecoboost engine as a mild hybrid at the start. Whether there will be a more fuel-intensive four-wheel drive is unclear. Instead, an electronic traction control could provide more grip.
With the setting of the Galaxy and the S-Max, Ford retires completely from the van segment, after the C-Max and the Grand C-Max and the B-Max are no longer built. For these models, Ford now offers crossover models such as the Ford Puma or the Ford Kuga. S-Max customers are lured by the Mondeo crossover, to the Galaxy buyers, the big Edge is directed with seven seats.
Higher and with planking
Optically, the Mondeo crossover should then come with a slightly higher suspension, remote bodywork elements and possibly with underrun protection front and rear.
